The idea
What Can Kill Me™ began with a simple question: why is it so difficult to see the hazards around a destination before arriving?
Wildlife sightings may live in a neighborhood post. A flash-flood warning may appear on a government page. A washed-out road may be mentioned in a trail comment. Dangerous surf may be communicated by a sign only after someone reaches the beach. The project aims to bring that information into one clear, location-based safety view.
The founder
Michael Harlow is an author, filmmaker, PADI Scuba Divemaster, USCG 100 Ton Master with Sailing Endorsement, naturalist, educator and founder of The Adventure Travelers. His outdoor experience includes sailing the Pacific, RV travel across the United States, Canada and Alaska, completing the John Muir Trail, wildlife education, adaptive outdoor volunteering and extensive travel documentation.

Know Before You Go™ means giving people enough context to make safer decisions before a hazard becomes an emergency.
The product is being designed around the trust line: Real People. Real Hazards. Real Protection.
Current status
The name is trademarked, the technology is patent pending under a provisional patent application, and the browser demo is being used to demonstrate features and gather feedback before full mobile development.
What success looks like
Success is not making people afraid of nature or travel. It is helping them prepare, avoid preventable harm, and understand changing conditions with confidence.
